Which Drago Mocambo blend suits you?
Gran Bar stands for the milder, nutty, chocolatey profile. Suprema brings spicy cocoa and amarena notes. Gusto Intenso is the particularly dark, smoky, woody alternative. Compare according to your taste; roast intensity is not an indication of caffeine content.
Grind fresh and store correctly
Whole beans let you choose the grind. For a portafilter machine, grind just before brewing if possible; in a bean-to-cup machine the built-in grinder does this. Follow the machine manufacturer’s instructions on beans and care, especially with dark roasts.
Store coffee in a dry place away from heat and light. Close opened packs carefully and observe the best-before date on the packaging. Only fill the bean hopper with as much as you will use soon.
Dialling in your espresso
Adjust grind and dose to your machine and change only one parameter at a time while dialling in. The manufacturer lists different brewing recipes for this coffee on its website, so we don’t give a single value here as a binding setting.

Is the coffee already ground?
No. You receive a bag with 1 kg of whole beans. For a portafilter machine you also need a suitable coffee grinder.
Can I use the beans in a bean-to-cup machine?
Yes, the beans can be used to make espresso in a bean-to-cup machine. Follow your machine manufacturer’s instructions and adjust grind, strength and water quantity to your taste.
How many cups does 1 kg of coffee beans make?
That depends on your dose. At 8 g per shot, about 125 servings are possible on paper, at 16 g about 62 doubles. Losses from dialling in and grinding are not included.
Is the coffee suitable for cappuccino?
You can top up the espresso with separately frothed milk for a cappuccino or latte macchiato. How much the coffee comes through depends on the blend and the ratio of espresso to milk.
Is there a better price for several packs?

What’s the alternative without a grinder?
For a suitable E.S.E. pod machine you’ll find Gran Bar E.S.E. pods and Brasilia E.S.E. pods in our shop. These pods do not go into the bean hopper of a bean-to-cup machine.
