Gran Bar or Brasilia?
Gran Bar E.S.E. pods suit a milder espresso with nutty, chocolatey notes. Brasilia E.S.E. pods offer the darker, spicier profile. Both use the same E.S.E. 44 mm system, so you can switch coffee to suit your taste without changing your machine.
The right machine: Spinel CIAO
Looking for a compact machine for these pods? The Spinel CIAO E.S.E. pod machine is designed for 44 mm E.S.E. pods and is ideal for single cups at home or in a small office.
Check before you buy: E.S.E. pods are a system of their own. They are neither Nespresso capsules nor soft Senseo pads. What matters is that your machine is expressly stated to be E.S.E. 44 mm compatible.
Storage and preparation
Store the pods in a dry place away from heat and light, and follow the instructions and best-before date on the packaging. Insert a pod into the machine as described in the operating manual and remove it after brewing. A pod machine also needs regular cleaning.

Do the pods fit the Spinel CIAO?
Yes, they fit the Spinel CIAO for 44 mm E.S.E. pods offered in our shop. For other machines, please check the manufacturer’s system information.
Are E.S.E. pods compatible with Senseo or Nespresso?
No. Senseo soft pads and Nespresso capsules use different systems. These pods are intended for E.S.E. 44 mm machines.
How many coffees do I get from one carton?
The carton contains 144 pods. With one pod per espresso, 144 cups are possible.
Can I make cappuccino with them?
The pods provide the espresso base. For cappuccino you also need frothed milk, for example from a separate milk frother.
Which coffee is milder?
Gran Bar has the milder, nutty, chocolatey profile. Brasilia is darker roasted and stronger in taste. Perceived intensity is not a measure of caffeine content.
